Do I need a referral to see a Podiatrist?

No referral is required to see one of our Podiatrists, simply book an appointment for your initial consult.
However, you may have been referred to us  by another health professional or general practitioner and if so, please bring this referral to your appointment.

Will my podiatry consult be covered by Medicare?

Accepted Answer

You will only be covered by Medicare for some of your appointment cost if you have an Enhanced Primary Care Plan (EPC) or Chronic Disease Management Plan referral from your general practitioner. You can claim up to 5 visits per calendar year under this scheme; however a Gap Payment is also required. Please contact our clinic for fees and the gap fee charged.

Is podiatry covered by my Private Health Insurance?

This will depend on your particular level of health cover with your private health insurer, if you are unsure please contact your health fund prior to your appointment. Feel free to contact us for more information about fees and charges as required.

Is Comfort Steps Podiatry a preferred provider with any Private Health Funds?

Yes, we are a preferred provider for Bupa.

What should I bring to my first consult?

Accepted Answer

If you are coming to see us regarding footwear or orthotic issues, please make sure to bring those along with you to your appointment so we are able to assess them. Also bring any other relevant documentation such as referrals or imaging reports if you have been provided with any.

How long will my appointment take?

Accepted Answer

New patient appointments are up to 40minutes, standard appointments up to 30minutes. Appointments with more complex issues or testing can vary in time.
